Poised

To be poised is to be balanced, collected and graceful. When you are poised you are relaxed and have access to 360 Degree Confidence.

Complete the exercises below to remain poised throughout the day!

1. How you hold your body is a key part of being poised. When someone is poised, they don't hold their body tightly yet they are aware of how they are using and holding the muscles in their body. Their body is relaxed and yet they are ready to act when necessary.
So, take a moment to notice how you are holding your body right now. Notice where your body is relaxed, notice where it isn't. Where there is any tightness or tension in your body, breathe into the tightness or tension, breathe into it again and feel it melting away and draining out of the tips of your fingers or toes.

Now imagine you are aware of how you are using, or not, every muscle in your body. Move your hands and as you are doing it, being aware of all the muscles moving, not too much, not too little.

And now bring to mind someone who you feel fits the description of being poised. Naturally I think of Grace Kelly. Imagine how that person would stand and stand like them, relaxed and aware of the muslces you are using.

2. Another key part of being poised is being reflective not reactive. Keep perspective today by being more reflective or even more reflective than you usually are. This will enable you to stay relaxed, reflect on the situation and make the best decision.

3. What is the one thing you can say yes to that you will keep you feeling poised today?

4. What is the one thing you can say no to that you will keep you feeling poised today?
